Everyone knows that I teach classes, but I have just recently started teaching them online. It's pretty awesome and this class is even more awesome.
You might want to ask your ancestors for help with this class because it's going to be epic. For eight days over four months we're going to learn everything you need to know to make a shawl from start to finish; raw fleece to a finished fabric ALL ONLINE! We will take the fleece from washing, to carding, to dyeing, to spinning, through design and onto a warp. I will show you how to use the most available equipment types out there today and you will choose the technique you like best. What ever skill level you are with fiber arts this is the class that can always teach you something new. You will need the basic working and warping knowledge of your own loom, OR take my "Beginning Weaving Class" before January. This class is limited to only five people so you will have access to all the one on one help you could need. We will be recording every class so if you miss one or need a little help mid week you can go and watch the class as many times as you need to. We will also have our own forum in Weavolution where we can all help each other.
You can surf on over to weavolution.com/node/19259 to sign up and see even more details. This is an Awesome class for $375 and will certainly bump up your fiber skills.

I need a vacation
We make our money teaching classes; weaving, spinning, dyeing, fiber prep, knitting, and anything else people want to know. I love teaching adults and younger individuals that actually care about the art and what you can do with it. However, groups of children are very quickly becoming something I never want to do again after we had to deal with a mixed group of c leptos, indifferent, refusing to listen, and down right rude children who touch things with out asking. It's becoming a common result of these activities and, although it usually pays well, it isn't worth bringing down my moral so much it steals a week of productivity. So, this
I'm Back
Yeah, I disappeared for a while. Deviant Art got all weird and I was ready to move, so I fell off the face of the earth. Not that Silver Wheel Yarn stopped making things. Actually we have grown to be a lot larger than we were back then.
We bought the perfect house in downtown Somerset, Ky with enough room that I can have the two largest rooms for my studio and classroom. We have 4 looms now and have shifted into using local fibers for almost everything we make. I have started quilting and have just finished my first large quilt. There is a lot to show you over the next few weeks.
I'll catch you up as I go, but if you want the whole st

Some of you are aware that I am closely connected to the creation of the comic series "The Price of Tea," namely as the co-writer while DA very own artist CJ Bloomer as the artist and the other half of the writer title. I wanted all my friends of DA to have the opportunity to join us in the celebration of the official publication of Issue #3.

A few weeks ago I wrote an essay about my values and was honored to have it published in today's newspaper. I'm kind of shy about it (which is a rare thing) since this whole thing is a little overwhelming for me. I'm not big on attention, but this was an important subject and it was easy to write since it was all from the heart. For all you un-local friends, you can find my essay here. http://www.kentucky.com/faith/story/1148456.html There is even a HUGE picture of me in the paper, much bigger than I would have wanted. I don't even like mirrors and pictures are even weirder.
It's out there and its all me. ;-)
